I’m doing research for an article right now, and so I thought I’d share some of what I’ve found:
In the Street (1948); cinematography by Helen Levitt, Janice Loeb, and James Agee
Shot on 16mm film in Spanish Harlem in the mid-1940s, this 16-minute documentary is both a work of art and an absolute delight. (Also, out of print and largely out of circulation — save for YouTube.) Enjoy!
