Introduction to the Facial Nerve

1.) It does more than you think.

2.) It runs throughout your entire face, which is why, when a bee stings you in the temple, the venom spreads throughout your entire face. And then causes your entire face to swell up. (Thanks, honeybee!*)

3.) In a way, a bee sting to the head is kind of like Botox — in the sense that it paralyzes your facial muscles, is a terrible idea, and the results are really scary.

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to terrify the neighborhood children…

 

*I was nowhere near that hive; this colony is just mean as hell, maybe from having a tree dropped on them earlier this year.
